Climate Change, ESG Investing, ESG Data with implications for CRE and CMBS

I recently presented at the DBRS Morningstar webinar on “Climate Change, ESG Investing, ESG Data with implications for CRE and CMBS”, with both internal and external panelists. It was a well-rounded discussion on ESG factors impacting CRE (Commercial Real Estate) investing, and implications for CMBS (Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities), with perspectives on trends in quantifying and communicating data on climate change, how and why it matters to investors in fixed income and real assets, and the growth of investor interest in sustainable investing, DBRS Morningstar’s ESG initiatives and criteria, and the CMBS credit rating process incorporating these critical issues.

Panelists included:
Georgios Katsaros - Senior Vice President, Credit Ratings CMBS
Kevin Augustyn – Vice President, Credit Ratings CMBS
Indrani De – Senior Vice President, Head of Investor Strategy
Ed Kearns – Chief Data Officer, First Street Foundation
Jeremy Porter, Research and Development Lead, Chief Data Officer, First Street Foundation
